Find Me
After having been rejected by Samantha and watching the activities at the Oasis, Sidney becomes more dejected, and is beginning to feel a little sorry for himself. Despite the encouragement of his new-found friends at the bar, Sidney complains that he's tired of trying to "find somebody"; "I wish that special someone would FIND ME." Jessica independently sings her version of the song, and at the end they are a musical duet on opposite sides of the cafe.
(Partial lyrics)
SIDNEY
FIND ME, I'M TIRED OF SEARCHING.
THIS TIME, PLEASE COME MY WAY.
EACH TIME I THINK YOU’RE NEAR - YOU DISAPPEAR
WHY ARE YOU SOMEWHERE ELSE?
I CAN’T GO ON THIS WAY, FROM DAY TO DAY
BEING BY MYSELF.
JESSICA (She has been sitting alone at the table, and is also in a melancholy mood)
FIND ME, I’M LOST WITHOUT YOU, (Stands up, and slowly moves to down stage left, opposite Sidney)
SHOW ME - HOW LOVE BEGINS.
IS THIS REQUEST TOO MUCH? - TO FEEL YOUR TOUCH
I’M FLESH AND BLOOD - NOT STONE
YOU KNOW IT ISN’T RIGHT, FROM NIGHT TO NIGHT
FOR ME TO BE ALONE.
