The Oasis

Sidney, a newcomer and a member of the Single File Computer Dating Club, has entered the Oasis.  He is hoping to find his true love here tonight.  The Oasis is practically empty and Sidney isn't sure he's going to stay. But Charlie is certain he can change his mind. They sing THE OASIS in which Charlie attempts to convince him that the Oasis is the place for him. Of course, the "Double Entendre" (a special herbal concoction) is part of the solution. Becky interjects her sarcastic remarks during the song.

SIDNEY (Spoken) C’mon - you  don’t really expect me to believe that - do you?

CHARLIE (Spoken) Hey - you were very lucky to stumble onto this place. Isn’t this the sexiest cafe you’ve ever seen?  

SIDNEY (Looks skeptical - shaking his head)
WELL I’VE BEEN TO CAFÉS EVERYWHERE
AND I DON ’T THINK THIS PLACE CAN COMPARE.

CHARLIE (Protesting - shakes his head in disagreement)
OUR COOL AMBIANCE
IS WHAT EVERYONE WANTS.           

BECKY
BUT IT COMES WITH A LOT OF HOT AIR . (Charlie gives her a dirty look)

SIDNEY   (Chuckles) I really don’t think that ambiance is enough to keep me interested.

CHARLIE (Spoken)  Is not just that. It’s the people here. My customers are bright and witty. You’ll love talking to them, and listening to their stories.  

SIDNEY (Facetiously)          
YOUR GOOD FRIENDS ARE WELL SPOKEN NO DOUBT,
BECAUSE SMALL TALK WOULD TIRE ME OUT.

CHARLIE
THEIR VIEWPOINTS ARE STRONG
THEY COULD TALK ALL NIGHT LONG.

BECKY
ABOUT THINGS THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT.
